    IMIS '07

IMIS’ 07, hosted its participants between September 5-9, 2007 and covered  the topic TQM.
As defined in most contexts, TQM (Total Quality Management) is expressed as “a management strategy aimed at embedding awareness of quality in all organizational processes.” It is important for an organization  to reduce waste and  rework, to lower costs and to increase productivity. In order to achieve this, the company should be embedded with the technical skills of perceiving the customer needs correctly and quickly and the management strategies of reacting to these needs and customer inquiries correctly at the right time. Total Quality Management requires the leadership, management strategies and the implementations of industrial engineering, which IMIS’07 focused on within a wide perspective.
TQM is a process for managing quality; it must be a continuous way of life; a philosophy of perpetual improvement in everything we do.

    IMIS '09

The introduction of 21.century bore witness to the rapidly changing environment of the world economic system due to political, social and  technological reasons. Under these circumstances, companies have been forced  to develop new corporate strategies and  systems leading to a concept which is called strategic management. The companies, who realize the importance of strategic management earlier than others, become more advantageous compared to their competitors through changing their vision.
IMIS’09,  held between June 19-23, 2009, concentrated on the subject "Strategy: Production, Management and Turkey". Within the framework of this title, instead of emphasizing only strategic management, we combined strategic management and competition. Other themes covered in the conferance were "survival strategies", "competition-based strategies" and "rising stars".
Under the heading of “survival strategies”, we were  informed about the strategies implemented by managers of companies whose existence was threatened, or was likely to be threatened due to various challenges, problematic climates and risky strategies.
Under the heading of “competitive strategies”, the speakers talked about what strategies were formed to lead the market, what were the expectations from the market and the duration of the competition in the contemporary world.
Finally, under the heading of “rising stars”, the speakers talked about the prominent industries’ expectations from the future and searched for answers to these questions: "What is the future of the Turkey? – What sort of a competitive environment is formed?”
