In this lab we will install fundemental Internet services on our laptops. DNS Server , Web Server & SMTP Server. We will simulate a real life Domain Name System structure with the available com , net , org ..etc TLD extensions and com.tr , edu.tr SLD extensions. You will pick a domain name for yourself and an extension for it. We will work in Microsoft frame work meaning that the programs will be installed on your XP or W2K boxes. Linux gurus may prefer to install equavalent software such as Bind , qmail , proftpd...etc which we wont have too much time to help you configuring custom software packs that are out of our lab scope.

Since we dont have too much time for configuration i recommend you to come up with your Win partitions

IMPORTANT : To receive a full grade , the end of the lab , all attendants should be able to setup his own DNS , httpd and send and receive emails to/from me via SMTP.

It is strongly adviced NOT to get distract during the lab sessison , if you get lost we may not have time to debug your problems.
